Today, the Errol Flynn Marina offers 32 fixed- dockage berths (European), 25 Mooring Balls, and excellent facilities in one of the world’s most beautiful and protected harbors.
When she was 18, Arnella went to London and New York to become a model. Arnella’s mother was the reserved and picture-perfect Patrice Wymore, an American actress almost 20 years Errol’s junior. In his off-screen life, he was an avid sailor and yachtsman, who once owned Navy Island, a 64-acre plot off Jamaica’s northeast coast, due north of Port Antonio, where he used to moor what he called his “dream ship” – the fabled Zaca, an 118 foot, two-masted schooner with a 23-foot beam that had already sailed around the world before Flynn bought her in 1945 and steered her down Jamaica way.“Errol Flynn has a long history with Port Antonio,” says Christine Downer, Marina Manager of the Errol Flynn Marina & Boat Yard, named after the Hollywood icon who once described the lush and verdant area of Portland Parish as more “beautiful than any woman” he had ever seen. Ironically, even Errol diluted liquor, whereas Arnella would just drink it down straight. The girl who was raised as Hollywood royalty was now relegated to petty thievery. The Errol Flynn Marina & Boat Yard began as The Marina at Port Antonio in 2002, after its owner, the Port Authority of Jamaica, decided there was a need for a mega-yacht facility on the island. Her older stepbrother Sean mysteriously disappeared in Cambodia in 1970, while covering the Vietnam War as a journalist. “Well, the older yachting crowd knows about Errol Flynn and his exploits in his movies, and Australians are very much in tune with his name,” says Downer. She was blonde, thin, beautiful and looked the part, and it was easy to nab contracts through Flynn family connections. Other amenities include shore storage, shower and laundry facilities, and a swimming pool. Being a movie star of international fame, Flynn appreciated the area’s privacy and simplicity as much as he did fishing the azure waters of the Caribbean and rafting down the Rio Grande River that runs from the Blue Mountains of Portland Parish north to the sea.

She said of her daughter: At the age of 13, Arnella went to live on the placid, tropical, crystal-blue shores of Jamaica. Because of not having assess to a boat, we were not able to go over and explore the island. She was banished from the main property to a smaller plot on the island.
She was only 44.
“And we have an adjoining cruise ship dock which we can use to berth them.
This was never more true and tragic than in this case. With such an absent and infamous father, Arnella never stood a chance. She grew close to her stepsister Rory, who was also a model. Her mother was an intelligent businesswoman who opened up her own boutiques and gift shops, and managed the hotel and farmed the plantation at considerable profit margins.

Her mother was ashamed, and wanted her to get a grip on her life and raise her son Luke, which she had been relegated to doing since Arnella was unfit herself. Baker helped create the new Errol Flynn Marina there and in 2005 transformed his property in San San into a small, award-winning hotel and recording studio, called GeeJam. This led to an early demise for the both of them. She cut her career short in 1953 when Arnella was born, to care for her new baby- and her alcoholically destroyed husband. He died of heart failure in 1959, when Arnella was 6. Arnella’s Rastafarian boyfriend Willard Hearne was concerned about her, but nobody could help. Her friend circle consisted of laid back Rastafarians, who were content to party with her, but advised her to lay off the white powder. He was nicknamed the Tasmanian Devil for good reason: after he was barred from drinking on set, he injected vodka into oranges and consumed them during filming. She married a photographer named Carl Stoecker, and in 1976, they had a son named Luke who, you guessed it, went on to become a model. It offers all standard repair and maintenance services, including high pressure cleaning, scraping, barrier coating, gel coating, fiber glass repair and replacement, shaft straightening, and propeller repair. Their life in Jamaica was, quite surprisingly, simple and free of modern degeneracy: Patrice refused to own a telephone or TV until the 1980s. Her body was completely emaciated. Arnella seemed to have had the same love affair with Jamaica as well.
The Boat Yard opened in 2004, and the Errol Flynn moniker was first employed in 2006. When that floundered, she stole coconuts from her mother’s plantation to fund her addiction.
