According to Joe Mills, who does claim to be the composer, the story goes that Joe Cooley was a young lad of 18 or so when he first heard Joe Mills playing the tune. He plays it on a C whistle though, but I transposed it to E dorian for the sake of your convenience. It was on their very first album when the fiddler was Chuck Fleming.
