I find this very puzzling, given the nature of this album in respect to the much more well received 1987 blockbuster, Here it is, the least liked of all albums Anthrax released during their 'classic' line-up. Quality-wise it still stands securely within their 'Belladonna' releases from Spreading the Disease to Persistence of Time and has a great many excellent tracks, despite a slightly warmer sound and a lack of rawness that lent itself so well to their previous 2 efforts.
I love this album. This completes the releases this year from the so-called ‘Big Four’ (that’s From the catchy rifferama of the opening song, ‘Be All, End All’, the listener really is dragged into a state of euphoria from which there is no way out. While it is not nearly as fantastic as Among the Living, it is indeed a very solid album with some awesome tracks and moments.
Well they did with State of Euphoria. Anthrax was founded in July 1981 by guitarists Scott Ian and Dan Lilker.They found the name in a biology textbook and claimed it because it sounded sufficiently evil. It's heavily underrated too. If your a fan of 80s thrash or Anthrax, you already own this album, but if you don't, buy it today!!!

They had established a unique, heavy, and humorous thrash formula that they used to put out some of the best songs of the genre. I would have to say this is Anthrax’s weakest album of the 80’s hands down.
It deserves a lot more appreciasion that it has.

Unfortunately only half of this album was worthy of their legacy and the rest were fillers.I really don't know why people don't like this album as much as the others.

This album is easily the most forgotten of the Belladonna years of Anthrax, and one of their most forgotten albums in general. All this pondering is moot point when one just shuts up and listens to any of the stellar Belladonna era albums though, and 1988's Being different is not something that should be done for its own sake, but when it comes to the conventional wisdom regarding the Belladonna years of Anthrax, it is something that more people ought to start doing.
Over 30 years later and I'm still loving it. riffs are awesome....thats it.
The biggest problem with a voice as powerful and clean as Belladonna's was how the hell do you incorporate it into something as rough and ready as thrash?

It might be understandable to want more development out of this album, as it does listen a little similar to the previous one, but given all the improvements and expansion of sound going on here, calling it a weak version of its predecessor just doesn’t fit what I hear.The best argument against “State of Euphoria” is that it’s the worst studio album with Joey Belladonna.
