It truly was a 'cabin in the woods'. Kids enjoyed roasting marshmallows at the fire pit, playing ping pong, and using the great hot tub. No shade from trees to help cool it. The kitchen was stocked with every utensil you might need. The ride to a Walmart was about 15 miles but they did advise us in advance that one was close to the exit they instructed us to use. It did work for gently eating dinner off it, but you certainly couldn’t lean or apply pressure as it would fall over.We have rented from Cabin by the Caves management a few years ago and had a great experience then as well.
I think even with the air conditioning working correctly it would be quite warm in the loft. I would highly recommend a stay Our guests are offered the comforts of a home away from home, and we strive to meet or exceed our guests expectations. On the first day when we arrived, the sun was still high in the sky and beating down on the barn which is located in an open space. But still the entire situation was a disruption.The table outside near the fire pit needs a little tuning up.
Its a win-win and honestly the The Barn at Pumpkin Ridge is quite cozy and would be perfect for the winter months!This is Cindy Gordon’s website. We had a nice time at Starry Knight for a 3-night family stay. We are guessing possibly that he was a history professor or had a love of history. You also had an option to add an hour to check-in or check-out for an additional fee.We loved this antler chandelier on the main floor.
Only 1 working DVD player (even though there are 2 TVs) and NO wifi at all. When I called the manager all she offered was a refund for the days we weren't using the cabin, if we decided to leave....which we can't since we are already here and had made several plans for the area. The furnishings were super. As we discussed, the satellite carrier that we had available to us at this location could only provide a certain amount of data on their WiFi plan and once it was used, our guests would not have access until it reset at the end of the month.
Simple updates like fixing the wobbly bench inside at the table so that both benches can be used.
The standard rate only includes 2 people.
Sadly, with it being 82 degrees on the main level, it was even hotter in the loft. Thank you for letting us know that there was an old brochure at the cabin, we will make sure that is removed and we apologize. We had such an awesome time while we stayed there ! Deep in the woods and tucked on the hillside, only one other cabin was barely visible up the hill from us. This seems to be common in Hocking Hills.I think that The Barn at Pumpkin Ridge would be best visited in the winter.
Perfect for our 3-day trip.Hello, and thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our Lincoln cabin. It was neat to see the huge collection of copper cookware in the barn.The Barn at Pumpkin Ridge also had an extensive book collection. We missed wifi and cell reception but otherwise the cabin was well appointed and comfortable. So we took the mattress from the loft and brought it downstairs.When we got up the next day the house had cooled to 74 degrees. Amazing!! I would highly recommend a stay More This time it was a balmy 79 degrees when we went to bed. Upon arriving, we had a few questions..called and before they could answer, we figured out our issues. We believe the Barn is a beautiful cabin situated on a 90 acre nature preserve, with 1.900 square feet of living space, private hiking trials, double wood burning fireplaces, private gazebo with hot tub, and well stocked private library, music collection, and game table. We are glad that you were able to spend some quality time with your sisters! Hot Tub was wonderful too. This was not working well for the many guests that we host at the Barn and the Hocking Hills does not have many options for service providers like there are in a larger city setting. Mapquest provided several other options...glad we stayed with the ones originally provided to us. Just a fabulous place to relax and enjoy staying put!!
