We live in a time of turmoil that could become more violent and destructive if we fail to learn from human history. Without him and his brilliant political agitation, the Bolsheviks would not have come to power, never mind held on to it.
Completely inaccurate, total waste of my time, basically a joke Do they care anything about the populations they rule over?

This is by far one the tv shows that could possible be in the Cold War era, in the side of the United States. 2 out of 6 found this helpful. Watch all you want for free. The performances are superb! Now about the movie. No matter how smart and learned and philosophical and technically brilliant the Russians were, or are, they are a country bound to fail until they develop democratic institutions. This miniseries spurred my interest to go into a deeper study of this period. Great series, great work!

And the demons from his past? However, this makes the portrayal monotonous, exaggerated and stupid. I expect some departures from the truth for dramatic effect, but there are so many distortions and made up history as well as made up motivation, it could have been written by Donald Trump.
Although there is much here that is historically questionable the interactions of the revolutionary leaders are fascinating and the production is first rate! It shows what a revolution truly is. It's often led by fanatics and ends up costing lives, many lives. Then he makes a stunning confession.A Mesoamerican warrior princess embarks on a quest to recruit three legendary fighters to help save the world of gods -- and humankind.A mom’s life turns upside down when she must choose between putting her family at risk and returning to her past as a bioengineered Russian agent.A rural electronics whiz broadcasts radio signals into space and monitors for signs of aliens, but makes a more important connection here on Earth.A young woman is found brutally murdered in a Copenhagen playground. The film correctly portrays how Lenin and Trotsky underestimated koba, and how it lead to the downfall of both men. Was this review helpful? The movie is not a reproduction of the events. As was already mentioned, it was not intended to serve as a documentary, but to show the deep struggle of the man who would be viewed by many as the intellectual diving force behind the Bolshevik revolution. The series stars Konstantin Khabensky in the title role. It is often entertaining and has high production values.

Rich And it's one that is only loosely based on his life and generally paints him as a power hungry war monger. You decide. It debuted on Channel One in Russia on 6 November 2017[2][3] for the centenary of the Russian Revolution. It's not a documentary. I love all history and sometimes it's nice to put it into historical fiction. It shows. This historical documentary sheds light on the assassination of Marxist Soviet leader Leon Trotsky, who was killed in 1940 on orders from Stalin. I am intrigued by the potential impact in Russian society today, where a dictator is willing to lie and kill to maintain power. Tears for Nicolas the Bloody: The Netflix Russian Revolution Documentary Ardent socialists and communists (and I mean real socialists and communists, not social-democrats) took it as a slander piece to make Trotsky look bad by bad capitalist Russia. The characters in the series are all one-sided and accordingly seem unnatural, because their portrayal is not intended to be exhilarating or complex, but rather stem from a political intention that hardly tolerates contradictions or complexity. It takes a lot of liberties when it comes to historical accuracy and the producers of the movie have stated that they have modified the plot to deliver a powerful message.
